Stabilise
Keep the gains. Catch the drift.
Stay inspection-ready.
Making an improvement is easier than sustaining one.
Old habits die hard.
Everybody is paying attention immediately after a bad inspection, mock inspection, complaint, incident or training day.
Six weeks later?
Two experienced carers have left.
Three new starters were not there when the changes were introduced.
The deputy is off sick.
Someone has started copying last month’s care-plan wording again.
The new risk-assessment process gradually reverts to the old.
Human nature and service pressure win, and six months down the line, you find yourself back to square one.
And because we understand how people respond to change — and what it takes to embed new standards in practice:
- We stay close enough to your service to catch the early drift
- Support your RM
- Make sure new staff understand the standards you worked hard to introduce
- And periodically test whether what looks good in your systems is still happening in everyday care
Because finding a weak risk assessment is cheaper than dealing with the incident it failed to prevent.
Correcting a supervision problem is cheaper than replacing another exhausted RM.
And finding the gap yourself is considerably cheaper than having CQC or the commissioners find it for you.

An independent specialist regularly testing whether leadership’s picture of the service survives contact with the floor. Real external challenge that keeps Good practice working when nobody is preparing for inspection.
We work with a limited number of providers each year. Stabilise normally follows a Focussed review or corrective work, and every enquiry is qualified before we accept it. If your service still needs major correction, it belongs in ACT first.
Significant investigations, turnaround work, major corrective interventions and staff training are scoped separately from Stabilise retainers.
